Warm oranges collide with crimson rock, cool shadows slip into violet and blue, and the Colorado cuts through it all like a green ribbon. While Robert was painting near the overlook, a group of BASE jumpers suddenly launched themselves illegally from the cliffs nearby. One moment there was silence and canyon air, the next, figures were dropping into the immense space below.
